Last week, the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting took place for the 73rd time. More than 30 Nobel Laureates and around 600 young scientists took part to exchange knowledge, make contacts and discuss scientific findings. This year's meeting focused on three core topics:
• Quantum physics and quantum technologies
• Solutions in physics for the challenges of energy generation
• Artificial intelligence in physics.
The program ranged from various lecture formats by Nobel Prize winners, science walks or laureate lunches to the larger evening events, where you could meet the laureates in person in a convivial atmosphere.
Four young scientists from the Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik were also present. Annabelle Kaiser, Miriam Gerharz, Gergana Borisova and Asma Shirin were nominated to take part in the meetings.
After the meeting, a group of international scientists also invited to the Lindau meeting visited the MPI für Kernphysik as part of a tour of research institutes in Baden-Württemberg organized by Baden-Württemberg International.
The researchers spent an informative day, exchanging ideas with scientists from the institute in order to make further contacts.
